Back injury claim against local Council

Back to Case Studies

Our client worked for the local Council. One evening he was leaving his place of work when he slipped down some stairs that had been mopped and were still wet. There were no warning signs nearby.

The Council admitted liability but said that our client should have been aware of the daily cleaning routine and was therefore partially responsible for his injuries.

Liability was split 90:10 in favour of our client and so he received 90% of the agreed damages.

In the accident, our client suffered soft tissue injuries to his back which resolved after 12 months.

The claim was settled for a global sum of £2,800 without our client ever having to go to Court.
