Compensation following distressing road accident
Case involved a 34 year old woman who was involved in a road traffic accident. She suffered from whiplash and facial injuries. However, some weeks after the accident she began to suffer from an exacerbation of symptoms relating to her pre existing multiple sclerosis and never really recovered from that. We obtained expert evidence from a neurologist who supported her case but the defendant always opposed it. Eventually the case was settled on a compromise basis for £25000. This was an extremely complex matter as it is the only case that we are aware of in which the issue of exacerbation of multiple sclerosis has been taken into account in settlement.
