Compensation Recovered For Security Guard Following Accident At Work
The client was 43 years at the date of the accident. He was employed as a security guard and had been instructed to fix a sign which was attached to a pillar. He put a ladder against the pillar to commence work when the pillar moved causing the client to fall from the ladder.
The client sustained a comminuted fracture to his dominant wrist. He was expected to be left with some permanent loss of grip strength and although the discomfort was likely to improve there would always be a background ache in the wrist which would deteriorate with heavy use.
His employers admitted liability and offered him £2,000.00 compensation without sight of medical evidence.
The Defendant’s offered £15,000.00 after sight of medical evidence and the Schedule of Loss.
The client’s claim was settled for £20,000.00 comprising £10,000.00 for general damages and £10,000.00 for past and future financial losses to include future care, assistance with heavy gardening and DIY.
