Damages Awarded For Facial Scarring.
Claimant was a passenger in a works van that drove into a tree after swerving to miss vehicles in front that had skidded on black ice. Liability was admitted early in the claim. Claimant sustained two deep laceration to his face with headaches. The Claimant was treated at A&E. One scar was to his right eyebrow approximately 2cm long, partly covered by the eyebrow and the other smaller scar across the bridge of his nose about 0.6 cm long. The scars are gradually fading but will leave a faint permanent scarring. The Claimant took one day off work and lost earnings. He also incurred travel, postage and telephone expenses. The claim settled for £4800.00 which included £4650.00 for his injuries.
