Damages Awarded For Wrist Injury Resulting From Slipping Incident.
The client was 49 years at the date of the accident. He was employed as a service provider for a motor garage. He had walked into the workshop area to talk to one of the mechanics and as he returned to the reception area he slipped on the wet floor. The floor had been painted but was known to be slippery when wet and there was a car washing facility nearby.
The client sustained a fracture to his left wrist which was treated conservatively and although the fracture united and healed well he was left with on-going symptoms in the cold and damp weather and had to undergo a course of physiotherapy treatment.
His employers admitted liability.
The client’s claim was settled for £4,965.00 comprising £4,500.00 for general damages plus £300.00 for special damages and £195.00 for physiotherapy treatment.
