Hair Loss As A Result Of A Road Traffic Accident
Emily was a passenger involved in an accident that occurred as the vehicle was joining a motorway from the slip road. The impact from the lorry caused their vehicle to turn over on its side.
The claimant was a young female passenger aged 22 who suffered multiple injuries resulting in 10 days off work. In addition to her whiplash, wrist and knee pain she also suffered facial scarring and severe hair loss. This was a result of glass being embedded in her skin on the scalp at the forehead. Her eyes and cheeks were swollen for a period of time. She was left with permanent scarring on her wrist and head which affected her psychological state and enjoyment of life and welfare. Furthermore she was unable to sleep as she had severe nightmares and flashbacks and could not travel as a passenger, avoiding sitting in vehicles. Her psychological symptoms recovered after a period of 2 ½ years after the accident and the recovery of her physical injuries within a 2 year period.
