Low Velocity RTA Claim

Back to Case Studies

The Claimant was a front seat passenger in his friend’s vehicle; they were waiting to turn right at traffic lights.  The lights turned green and the Claimant’s friend started to turn right and collided with an ambulance.

As the Claimant came to see us at quite a late stage we had to issue Court proceedings to prevent his claim becoming statute barred as a result of the three year rule.

The Claimant’s friend and the ambulance driver went to Court, liability was agreed on a 60/40 basis in favour of the ambulance driver.

As a result of the accident the Claimant suffered a fractured finger, a swollen left knee and other minor injuries.  He went on to develop MRSA in his injured finger.

The Defendant’s solicitors made an offer of £7,500.00 in full and final settlement of the Claimant’s claim.  We made a counter-offer of £8,500.00.  The Claimant’s claim settled for £8,000.00
