Roundabout Accident Results In Damages Award

Back to Case Studies

We recently dealt with a claim which occurred on a mini roundabout. Our client saw the third party waiting on the exit to her left and as it was her right of way she proceeded over the roundabout. The third party van driver pulled out at the last minute at a speed and the client tried to brake suddenly. Due to the road being wet the client skidded into the third party van.

Liability was under investigation by the third party insurers for 2 months. However, due to the amount of evidence we had in our favour liability was admitted.

The client sustained an injury to her neck and right knee and the prognosis given was 9 months. Mention was made in the medical report regarding difficulty with household chores and inability to continue with her horse riding for a month after the accident.

We managed to secure for the client compensation for her personal injury of £2350.00 which included an extra £100.00 for gratuitous care and assistance and £100.00 for the fact that her friends helped her look after her horse whilst she could not.
