Tripping Incident in Shopping Centre
The Claimant sustained personal injury whilst walking through a shopping courtyard in Lymington. She tripped over a concrete plinth, falling forwards hitting her face on the ground.
A claim was raised against the local building company, who were carrying out improvement works in the area. Liability was admitted.
We arranged for the Claimant to be seen by an orthopaedic consultant who produced a medical report on the orthopaedic injuries she sustained. These included a fractured cheek bone and soft tissue injuries to her ankle. A separate report was also obtained from an ophthalmologist due to the Claimant suffering a 'droopy' eyelid.
Initially the Defendant Insurer offered the Claimant the sum of £4,000. Her damages settlement was finally agreed at £8,000.
The Claimant's case was dealt with under a no win no fee agreement. She was overjoyed at the level of compensation she received and that the case handler took the time to explain fully each step of the claim as it progressed.
